An era ended when Citroën on Wednesday produced the last piece of C6. Now there are no large, luxurious flagship remain with Citroen, Peugeot or Renault. Sure, it was better before?

One may wonder where the world is headed. On Wednesday, 19 december, produced the last piece of the "flagship" C6, the large, luxurious touring wagon, which was the crown of creation of Citroën. Thus, the era of the French auto industry that no longer has a few models left in this exclusive segment. What should the president go in now?

Citroen C6 (2005-2012) was a long-awaited replacement for XM (1989-2000), who in turn followed the CX (1974-1991). If C6 XM or CX was the last "real" Citroën is an open question that is still being discussed on forums around the web. Then there are those who argue that the DS (1955-1975) is the only real car that Citroën has ever built ...

Finding a Citroën C6 model year 2012 will not be easy since only built around 500 cars this year. A total of 23,384 were manufactured Citroën C6. That compares with XM built in nearly 334,000 copies, CX that just came over the million mark and DS which reached the impressive figure of 1,456,000 cars.

Euro NCAP crash test

The Franco-Japanese small car trio with Toyota Aygo, Peugeot 107 and Citroën C1, only three stars in the Euro NCAP crash test.

Model cars Toyota Aygo, Peugeot 107 and Citroën C1 are manufactured in the same Czech factory and based on identical technology. Euro NCAP crash-tested models in conjunction with the launch in 2005 and was rated four stars out of five.

Earlier this year, updated sibling trio with revised design and efficient engines. It is this, the 2012 edition, the Aygo, 107 and C1 Euro NCAP crash tested again in order to illustrate how the requirements in terms of crash safety intensified in recent years.

The cars only awarded three stars - but in fact, the grade would have been lower than that. Aygo, 107 and C1 are not offered with side airbags, curtain airbags, traction control, seatbelt reminder for the front passenger seat and Isofix mountings for the outer rear seats as standard equipment in all of Europe.

After taking part of Euro NCAP's test results, however, Toyota, Peugeot and Citroën announced that all cars must be fitted with the above equipment as of July 2013. Euro NCAP has therefore decided to test the cars with this equipment.

- Without this equipment would score would have been much worse, said Euro NCAP Secretary General Michiel van Ratingen a comment.

Serial production of C4 in coupe versions and hetchbek began in late 2004. This was followed by tremendous commercial success - around the world this car conquered the hearts of about 900 000 customers.

Today, the model has undergone different evolutionary changes:
- It has become more elegant, dynamic and sophisticated technically.
